How to correctly Ceiling mount your new Springo WiFi Access Point
Mounting your WiFi access point.
The device can be mounted on either the wall or ceiling. Perform the steps for the appropriate installation. Here we will look at the ceiling mount option, for a wall mount installation, please see our Article on Wall Mounting your Springo WiFi Access Point
Your new Springo WiFi access point comes with a variety of fittings to help you position your WiFi access point effectively. Below is a list of the various mounting accessories included.

Installation Requirements
- Phillips screwdriver
- Drill and drill bit (3mm for ceiling-mounting)
- Drywall or keyhole saw (to cut 18mm hole for Ethernet cable feed)
- Cat5/6 UTP cable for indoor installations
WiFi Access Point – Hardware Overview
Locking Notch
The Locking Notch will be used with the Mounting Bracket to secure the WiFi access point. (This is described further in the Mounting Bracket section.)
Reset
The Reset button serves two functions for the WiFi access point:
- Restart – Press and release the Reset button quickly.
- Restore to Factory Default Settings – Press and hold the Reset button for more than five seconds. (DO NOT USE UNLESS ASKED BY A MEMBER OF THE SPRINGO TEAM)
Ethernet Port
This Ethernet port is used to connect your WiFi access point to your power and internet supply.
Cable Feed Plug
If your Ethernet cable is surface mounted rather than running inside the wall, remove the Cable Feed Plug.
Mounting Bracket
Locking Tab
During installation, the Locking Tab on the Mounting Bracket moves from the Initial Position to the Final Position, where the Locking Tab fits securely into the Locking Notch on the WiFi access point.

Hardware Installation
For the wall mounting procedure you will need the below mounting accessories.

Step1.
Drop down the ceiling tile of where you will be installing your WiFi access point
Step2.
Place the ceiling backing plate onto the back of the ceiling tile and mark out the mounting holes using a pencil. Mark out the cable entry hole just under the flat side of the ceiling back plate.
Step3.
Drill out the 4 holes for the ceiling back plate using a 3mm drill bit.
Step4.
Drill out the cable entry hole using an 18mm drill bit.
Step5.
Using the flat head screws and keps nuts, affix the mounting bracket to the front of the ceiling tile and the ceiling backing plate to the back of the ceiling tile, Now is a great time to run the ethernet cable through the back of the ceiling tile to the front of the ceiling tile using the 18mm hole you cut in step 4.
Step6.
Connect the ethernet cable into the ethernet port on your WiFi access point

Step7.
Position your WiFi access point on top of the mounting plate ensuring that the arrow on the lip of the WiFi access point is inline with the locking tab of the mounting plate.

Step8.
Turn the WiFi access point clockwise 20 degrees until you hear the locking tab click into place.

Step9.
Place the ceiling tile back into the ceiling system, be careful not to trap any cabling. this completes the mounting of your WiFi access point, refer to the Quick & Easy Setup guide for connectivity instructions by visiting our article on Quick & Easy Hardware Setup.
